Author guidelines

1. CORRESPONDENCE.

Manuscripts must be sent in all cases to: lanotaria@catalunya.notariado.org. The first page must necessarily include the title, full name of the author, contact details, an email address, their position or profession, and the institutional affiliation with which the author(s) wish to be identified in the article header, as well as the abstract, keywords, and optionally other identifying information in up to three half lines (aligned to the right margin).

2. SUBMISSION AND FORMAT.

Manuscripts must be submitted by email and necessarily in Word format (exceptionally and with prior authorization, convertible formats may be accepted).

3. LENGTH OF THE WORKS.

Works must be original and not previously published in print or any other format, with acceptance automatically revoked if published in the meantime, except in exceptional cases - and with prior authorization - for languages other than the journal’s working languages or in unusual formats.

- Doctrinal articles should be approximately 30 pages (including notes, conclusions, bibliography, and even annexes), in Times New Roman 12, single-spaced, with footnotes in Times New Roman 10.

- Practical articles should not exceed 10–15 pages; and

- Case comments or rulings should be about 5 pages, always divided into corresponding sections and subsections.

4. ACCEPTANCE.

The journal’s editorial office will acknowledge receipt of submitted works by email and will send them for confidential review. The review results will be communicated to the authors (as soon as possible, following usual procedures) and will be one of the following:

- Acceptance of the work and the issue in which it will be published.

- Conditional acceptance, requiring adjustment of length or presentation.

- Rejection of the work.

5. PUBLICATION.

For accepted works, the issue number in which they will be published will be indicated, unless exceptional circumstances require postponement, which will be communicated well in advance.

6. EDITING RULES.

Doctrinal articles must be submitted in Catalan or Spanish (authors accept translation into either language, given the bilingual edition of La Notaria; authorization is required for other languages) and must include bibliographic apparatus, which is not necessary for practical articles or case comments.

- Bold text is not allowed (except in headings or subheadings), nor is underlining under any circumstances.

- Footnotes: Notes will be numbered in Arabic numerals, superscript format, in ascending order.

- Citations: Citations must follow usual rules depending on whether they refer to books, journal articles, articles in collective works, internet sources, or electronic journals, indicating surnames in uppercase; first names are not necessary unless to avoid confusion. Any changes or comments within literal citations must be enclosed in brackets.
